Indoor Gardening Trials

The winter here at Age Old has been warm so far but that has not stopped us from performing a series of indoor gardening trials.  Currently we are running test on our hydroponic Liquid Soil line and new products such as Optimize.  We have many plants growing in different types of systems.  In a 4 x 6 Hydro Hut we have 4 tomatoes growing in a FHD bucket system, and one tomato just in its own container.   The hut is properly ventilated and equipped with a 1000 w HPS lamp with an adjustable ballast.  At the facility Aristotle Basil is being grown in a Hydro-stacker, which we feed by hand daily.   Making our own NFT system that holds 12 / 2 inch pots we have different types of leafy greens.  Also in our greenhouse many varieties of different flowers and basil are being grown.

To have a successful indoor garden always choose the right lamps that offer all of the colors from the color spectrum.  An adjustable digital ballast works a lot better than any other type of ballast, this will help to lower your electrical costs as well.  Proper ventilation is key to a developed indoor garden, make sure the air is circulated and humidity and temperatures are at there desired levels.  Remember each plant will have a different needs for light, nutrient amounts, and environmental conditions, that’s why it pays to research your plants before you invest your time and money into them.
